I am a twenty-one year old woman who is seeking employment at your establishment for this upcoming year. I am willing to work hard and I can learn quickly any task that is given to me, and I can communicate effectively if I am experiencing a difficulty. I am a positive person and I believe my skill-set is well suited for the kind of work I would be doing at Morsels.
I am a quick thinker and learner. I am also a good listener and communicator. I don't have much working experience in terms of official jobs, but I am ready to learn and work to make a positive and pleasant atmosphere for everyone that I encounter on the job. I have a lot of experience working and living with people of all different backgrounds and personality types, and I can get along well with pretty much everybody. I am a hard worker; I don't like to do things half-way! I put my best effort into every task that I'm given. I am an artist and I love to paint and draw, so any task that requires creativity or artistic skill I would love to try. I'm initially a quiet person as I'm processing and encountering a new environment, but I warm up quickly and am open to trying new things and going outside of my comfort zone.
I've done commissioned art work starting at age 14 until today. I have completed over 50 works of art for various buyers that I've sold anywhere between $25 and $200. I usually work with pencil for drawings and acrylics for paintings.
Some of my experience has included:
I observed and assisted a fifth grade teacher at Spiritus Sanctus Academy in Ann Arbor for six weeks between September and October 2019, then I observed and assisted in multiple grade level classrooms at Resurrection School in Lansing for six weeks. Some of my duties included
I am planning on enrolling at the University of Mary (or another Catholic college) in the Fall of 2020, though my plans aren't set in stone yet. I will be pursuing a degree in elementary education to become an elementary teacher.
I entered a community of Catholic religious sisters two months after graduating from high school, and was with them for just over two years (until late November 2019). While I was there I took several classes on religious topics, such as philosophy, theology, and sacred scripture. I also attended choir practices twice a week and took classes on etiquette, communication skills, and the Aristotelian theory behind true friendship and living a virtuous life. I was also trained in how to use most industrial sized cleaning equipment and how to clean spaces most effectively. In addition, I learned how to use industrial sized cookware and prepare meals for large amounts of people (60-65 people per day for several days of a typical week). On multiple occasions I was in charge of planning and preparing the meal for the day, directing two to three other cooks in the preparation of the meal, and planning meals and cooking in a separate kitchen for those with dietary needs (anywhere from 10-25 people per day).
