Throughout my high school and college career I have had many experiences that have provided me with necessary skills to become a successful teacher. I was able to shadow a classroom early on, even before college, so I knew what it would be like before I even started going to classrooms in my Professional Semester. By having the same job for the last 5 years I have moved up in the company, had the capability to work with many different individuals and better my communication skills. Now I'm in my first week of my professional semester and I've already taught a class, helped students one on one, and have attended IEP, behavioral, faculty, and team meetings. By having all this experience and skills already, I feel that I have the necessary skills and achievements for this position and I would like the opportunity to show you that.

For a few months last year I also worked for Vector.
This company gave me the opportunity to use my time management skills because I was working here as well as at Rite Aid.
I took this job because I wanted to push myself to try something new and that was out of my comfort zone.
It was a great learning experience, however, it did not last long because my hours at Rite Aid were increased since I was helping with a remodel in another store, so I had to let this job go.
As a junior I attended this technical school to help reassure my interest in the career I was interested in. While at this school I was able to go to a classroom two days every week, for a couple hours, to shadow and partake in activities with the students. I went to Head Start, which is a preschool and I also visited a first grade class at Bristol Elementary School. This school taught me early professional skills, skills that a great teacher needed to have, and early experience of what it is like in the classroom.
Currently at Kutztown University I have a cummulative gpa of 3.59 and am a professional semester student. I am helping out in Bradywine Heights 6th grade class with Mrs. LeVan. In the Spring I will be students teaching.
In high school I went to a technical school called the Hannaford Career Center, and I was in the program called Human Services. Within that program we were able to chose the classroom that we would like to observe and participate in. The first class I observed was a preschool under the Head Start program. The next classroom I was in was at Bristol Elementary School in a 1st grade classroom. I enjoyed being able to work one on one and in groups, helping students with literacy and with their math skills. Since I've been attending college I have observed in a middle school during a social studies class, and I have followed an 8th grade student throughout her entire day. While following the student I was able to see how Fleetwood MIddle school ran their honors program, and other classes that my student took throughout the day. While attending college I have also joined the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. While being in Zeta Tau Alpha I have been membership enrichment chair, director of philanthropy, and currently I am the treasurer. All of these positions have helped me grow as a person and add unique skills and abilities for myself as an educator.
