In applying for the this position I will be utilizing knowledge I acquired and skills I developed working for 4.5 years as a Camera repair technician at C.R.I.S. as well as valuable troubleshooting and repair skills I learned repairing televisions and automobiles at previous employers. I also possess a good working knowledge of the mechanics of photography as it is a personal hobby and it has helped me immensely in the field of camera repair. Through the positions listed, I have acquired in-depth and diverse knowledge about the field that I hope to fully utilize in this new position. My experience working on DSLR and point and shoot cameras from various manufacturers will enable me to bring a full range of skills to the position advertised.
I hope to utilize the skills I have learned evaluating, troubleshooting, and repairing Pentax, Nikon, and Canon cameras as well as other brands. I also look forward to expanding my knowledge and abilities in making high quality repairs in a fast, cost effective manner.
Job duties involved: Troubleshooting issues and making accurate repair estimates for both factory authorized warranty and non-warranty DSLR and point and shoot cameras from brands like Pentax, Nikon, Canon, and others brands.
Performing repairs such as repairing/replacing main PCBs, image sensors, diaphragm control units, body parts/cover replacements, and general maintenance like sensor cleanings, etc.
Calibrating and adjusting necessary functions like auto focus, exposure metering, white balance, etc. Using manufacturer supplied adjustment software.
Job duties as a field service tech involved: Making scheduled visits to customers homes and testing, troubleshooting, and providing accurate estimates for repairs to the customer.
Performing repairs in a fast, efficient manner and helping customer with any assistance they need with proper operation of their televisions.
Job duties involved: Inspecting carpet, tile, and wood flooring in newly built homes and replacing any cracked tiles, chipped/splintered wood pieces, ripped carpet, and any other repairs that would be needed before occupants moved into the homes.
