I have spent eleven years working in the construction industry in the residential, commercial and the energy efficiency green building market(s). This qualifies me as a well-rounded building inspector with a subset in QA green building inspections experience. I work as a compliant building inspector for a small general contracting firm and hold ICC certificates in the IRC 2012, International Energy Conservation Code 2012, ICC Plans Examiner 2012 and the Commercial Mechanical Code. Duties performed during the last eleven years in this profession has been a Residential plans examiner, building inspector, retrocommissioning supervisor plus municipal energy inspector and auditor. My role as the compliant inspector is to perform site inspections for new builds and existing construction and field inspect to verify building codes are met. I also have construction management experience for small to medium size projects. I have worked with all major residential construction trades since living in Boulder County and am an experienced general construction tradesmen. I am trained in commercial building inspections known in the industry as Property Condition Assessments.
Primary responsibilities included performing detailed building inspections to the 2003 IRC and the IBC 2003 code This was a third party on site build out inspection and verification task domain on the behalf of U.S. Inspect; which included report writing, knowledge of IRC/IBC code requirements and interaction with general contractors, developers and builders. Also, I was required to be a certified building Radon Measurement Technician via NRSB & Pest Control Inspector via NC Department of Agriculture.
My project manager's position interfaced with developing customers to manage structured cabling projects which included complex gigabit Ethernet implementations. Responsibilities included coordination, assistance, build out design and completion, with targeted -successful results for client installations. I worked directly with departments within CompuLink and the client on project issues, which included obstacles from design to installation. These challenges have allowed me to become an effective communicator using "courageous communication" techniques which have helped me develop problem resolution skills in the structured cabling environment.
My passion pertains to retrocommissioning of buildings and performing commercial and residential inspections. I have been performing inspections for over 11 years in two different states. I have additional experience in construction management for small construction projects on a University setting. Two years ago, I was responsible for having Advanced Air accepted into the PRPA Commercial Building Tune up program in Ft Collins.
