  • My duties include planning and conducting audits of the U.S.Department of Education's programs and operations; supervising and training audit staff; preparing written audit reports and other products; and communicating with officials at all levels within the U.S. Department of Education, State government, State educational agencies, colleges and universities, and school districts to facilitate audits.
  • In 2016, I was selected by the Regional Inspector General for Audit to serve as mentor to a newly hired auditor.
  • In 2016, I was selected by the Assistant Regional Inspector General for Audit to develop interview questions for prospective employees, participate in applicant interviews, call applicant references, and assist with the hiring selections.
  • From 2013 to 2016, I served as team lead for an audit of three State Educational Agencies' implementation of their Race to the Top grants and supervised nine auditors from three different Office of Inspector General regional offices.
  • In 2011, I was chosen by the Office of Inspector General's Deputy Assistant Inspector General to participate in a special project with the Director of Quality Assurance and Policy, Senior Editor, and National TeamMate Champion, among others, to develop a new audit report format that would be used by all regions and provide much needed consistency.
  • In 2010, I participated in a special project with Inspectors General for Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Labor, and National Science Foundation, which resulted in the issuance of the Recovery Act Data Quality: Recipient Efforts to Report Reliable and Transparent Information report in September 2010.
