for MacArthur Interchange.
The purpose of the project is to provide connections between the eastbound direction of the Westbank Expressway and the eastbound frontage road near Peters Road and the East Bound Harvey Tunnel.
The Westbank Expressway is a six-lane urban, divided elevated freeway oriented in a general east-west alignment.
The existing superstructure is comprised of a71/2inch concrete deck supported by trapezoidal, prestressed concrete girders.
The bridge design portion of the new project consists of: A new eastbound on-ramp, Demolition of existing exit ramp to allow the proposed on-ramp and a new eastbound off-ramp.
The length of two new elevated ramp is about 2500 ft each.
New Structure widening shall be designed in accordance with the latest AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
As project assistant engineer my responsibility included: Coordination of structural details and design features within the project.
Conducted meetings with subs, designers and detailers as required.
Conducted project progress meeting with other subs.
Kept continual contact with DOTD project manager concerning project issues, progress, deadlines, and cost.
Monitored compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies.
SDR Engineering – Baton Rouge Parish Shreveport,
It consists of five, 100 feet steel pony truss spans and five, 40 feet steel I-beam approach spans.
Services provided included: inspection and evaluation of the existing structure, design of rehabilitation system for the superstructure and substructure.
A temporary two lane detour and temporary steel panel bridge will be constructed on north side of the existing bridge to maintain traffic during rehabilitation work on existing bridge.
The rehabilitation is composed of design of the concrete deck, girders, stringers, modifications to existing floor beams, and bearings.
Responsibilities included: QC and preparation of 95% plans.
The project is to perform a detailed in-depth field inspection on all components of the superstructure and substructure in conformance with AASHTO Manual for Bridge Evaluation, the NBIS, and LADOTD Maintenance Directives.
It is required to perform an NBIS inspection including an element level inspection.
The bridge consists of a main truss span comprised of (2) 182' anchor spans and one 520' steel cantilever span, (6) 102'-9" steel deck truss spans, (1) 91' steel girder span, and (35) reinforced concrete deck girder approach spans of varying span lengths.
I was part of the team for performing the work that included gathering all pertinent structure related information, performing an in-depth field investigation of the entire bridge, providing traffic control and all required inspection equipment including the snooper truck, load rating and analyzing the truss spans as well as approach spans while taking into account current conditions, and providing a detailed evaluation report.

My responsibilities include: · Design of 70th Ave Prestrssed Concrete Bridge, Fernald Trial Underpass, and five box culverts along the corridor.
Attend biweekly meetings between designers, RRP and RTD to discuss the project's progress.

RTD Eagle P3/I-225 Light Rail Extension Ongoing multi billion project, responsibility included: Design of pedestrian bridge substructure consisting of abutment walls placed on steel HP piles.
Foundation design of the underpass box.
Canopy foundation design in south Westminster.
Provided structural station design of canopies, platforms, retaining walls, signage and windscreens for the 13th Ave and Iliff stations as part of a 10.5-mile light rail line extension within the City of Aurora and a small section of northeast Denver.
The extension connects the existing Nine Mile Station on the Southeast Light Rail Line with the upcoming Peoria/Smith Station on the East Rail Line of the EAGLE P3 project.

Responsible for the structural inspection, analysis and remedial design support for all seven of the parking garages at the main terminal as the subconsultant for Walker Parking.
Also performed construction observation efforts provided by HCL for remedial construction work.
HCL also completed several additional Task Orders involving various repairs, retrofits, and modification needs of the airport.
Such additional work included retrofitting, dislodging precast panels and parking deck analysis for fork lift.
Bridge EngineerGannett Fleming – Phoenix,
during final design of 1.2 billion PHX Sky Train design build project; a predominantly elevated guide way system with seven stations.
A 5-mile-long guide way linked the airport terminals to airport parking, the rental car center, and city transportation nodes.
The project included a signature bridge over Taxiway R and bridges made of prestressed concrete U girders, post tensioned concrete boxes, and steel plate and box girders.
Responsibility included: Complete design of superstructure of 5 spans steel mix plate and box girder bridges and detailed design of single span 18 steel plate girders of skew bridge.
Substructure design included the design of 13 foot and 8 foot concrete columns (91 foot tall) supported by four 8 foot diameter drilled shafts for a 3-span, 740 foot post tension taxi way R bridge.
Coordinating the design calculations and plans with out-of-state design disciplines and subconsultants.
Responded to requests for information and construction non-conformance issues and checked the contractor's shop drawings for conformance with contract documents.
Work also included the evaluation and redesign of structures based on construction errors and/or conditions.

Office Load Rating Engineer responsible for: · Load rating and structural evaluation of new and existing bridges.
Supervised and trained a team of 14 to 19 students from University of Nebraska- Lincoln in using computer program LARS (Load analysis and rating software) for load rating all state and local (steel and concrete) bridges according load factor method requirements set by FHWA.
Presented progress reports to a committee comprised of state, federal, and county representatives.
Compiled the final result, report, and load rating (inventory and operating) values for each bridge.

Sheet piles were used for temporary shoring and the bridge was constructed in four phases.
Wellfleet South Bridge, North Platte, Nebraska, NDOR.
A single-span, 135-foot skewed welded plate steel girder bridge designed in accordance with (AASHTO) LRFD specifications.
The bridge was constructed in multiple phases.
Integral abutment, steel piles, steel sheet pile, and U-type wing walls were used as part of the substructure.
U.S Route 75 over J Street, Omaha Nebraska.
A 180-foot, multi-span, steel rolled bridge.
The bridge was widened to accommodate an additional lane and to extend the overhang at median to provide wider shoulders.
