I have been an educator and coach for over 24 years now. In this season of quarantine I have been inspired to seek opportunities to instruct at the university level. My true conviction is to work with future educators, sharing personal knowledge and experiences from the classroom and art studio.

I educate, inspire, and share Art and life with 750 middle school students a year. Mixing a balance of art history and studio project time, my conviction has long been to give kids aesthetic language to identify the visual world around them. Some ways we do this are through making art ,writing about art and talking about art.
We as a school district provide post-graduate studies, in areas of educational relevance, for professional development. Qualified teachers are encouraged to create and share a curriculum for fellow teachers to obtain ACT 48 credits, along with edifying content to improve teaching practices.
My contribution to RPI has been with a course entitled " Let's Make Art: Enrich Your Lessons with New Creative Methods". The objectives of this course are lesson enrichment, by exploring new and alternative ways to teach content. I encourage this through the subject of art and seek to empower core-subject teachers to use new techniques to enhance their lessons. Techniques that are explored are Drawing, Printmaking, Ceramics, Glass Fusing, and Photography.
My continuing education, after obtaining my masters degree, has been art studio coursework at the University of the Arts. I have enjoyed exploring new mediums and content through evening courses as well as through the week long intensive summer courses entitled "Arts Week for Educators".
