For instance the I- 130 forms (Petition for Alien relative).The eligible relative must wait until a visa number is available in order to file for adjustment of status to become a lawful permanent resident. The I- 130 form can be filed prior to a visa availability to establish a place in line, then after that process is completed the applicant can then file the form I-485 application to register permanent residence or adjust status. Then would file the form I-765 Employment Authorization.
