TELPAS Procedures (2016)

Facilitated a
study and analysis on TELPAS procedures at The Woodlands High
School.
- Developed a
plan to address the high failure rates and staff complaints on the TELPAS Calibration procedures smoother.
- Creating an on -
going training module to ensure that teachers can master the calibration,
but also use what is learned in the classroom to address student needs.
Making the PLC Work (August 2015)
- Presented to campus staff what a professional learning
community is. Explained its importance and how it can be an effective tool for
closing the achievement gap. Described the timeline of implementation. Answered
questions to ease some of the tension staff was facing.
Death by Lecture (February 2015)
- Facilitated a professional development using strategies found in the book “Death by Lecture” and others to provide teachers with strategies for breaking up lectures.
World Geography Scope and Sequence Committee
(2011 – 2016)
- Worked collaboratively to plan and organize the World Geography Scope and sequence for the past five years
with a team of five district teachers and district coordinator.
- Designed the
World Geography scope and sequence calendar for 2012 – 2013, 2014 – 2015, &
2015 - 2016 school years.
- Organized World Geography curriculum internet
resources for district coordinator.
World Geography Pre – AP Curriculum Development (2014
-2015)
- Worked with a team of
teachers to design a rigorous and effective curriculum for Pre – AP students in
Conroe ISD.
Mentor Teacher (January - May 2013)
- Coached and supported a student teacher in instruction, classroom management, and lesson planning.
- Conducted formal and informal observations of instruction.
- Provided feedback and developed plans for improvement.
Story Maps (August 2013)

Co – presented
on the creation, implementation, and analysis of story maps in the
Geography or World History to Social Studies teachers from around the
district. Explained what story maps are. Provided strategies on
implementing them in the classroom, and how to effectively grade them
without spending too much time.
Grading Policy Committee (2011 – 2012)
- Collaborated with principal and team in developing a functioning grading policy for the campus.
- Enlisted opinions of faculty and students throughout the process to improve the policy.
- Presented the new policy to staff collaboratively with team to create buy in.
