U.S ARMY NGMonticello, MN92Y Supply and Logistics Specialist09/2015
Every person has a purpose while setting foot on Earth. At age 17, I decided that my purpose would be to serve others. That I would make a living while better that lives of others. After graduating High School (June 4th, 2016), I began my ARMY training. I was gone from the date of June 13, 2016, to the date of November 9, 2016.
The time that I was gone nearly adds up to half a year. This might not seem like a long time, But it was Enough time to challenge, teach, and prepare me to the Fullest of my potential. While being there I was put to the most difficult tests. From being an expert shooter, to Becoming the greatest Leader for a team of 40 other soldiers. Some tasks taught me to carry the weight of others on my shoulders, literally, but also figuratively speaking. They made me realize how important it is to take care of others just as much as you take care of yourself. An expert “One - man Team” could never make it as far as a team of three or more, well trained, motivated, and persistent group of people.
Other than teaching me to be a non believer of individualism, and granting me the characteristic of Leadership, It Also helped me improve who I was as a person. From every heavy workout and mental challenge, my courage and willingness grew Bigger and Stronger. Going from a rough and hot 7 mile walk, to a dark and cold 14 mile walk never scared me. Of course, The idea itself didn't excite me, but I recognized how well prepared I was for it. Throughout every moment that I felt like quitting, the ARMY reminded me of the bigger purposes behind what we do. It was truly life changing.
My job in the ARMY involves many specialties that would be extremely helpful when working on a civilian job and career. On November 9th of 2016, I graduated from Fort Lee, through the Quartermasters area. That day I became an official 92Y, A supply specialist.Being a Supply specialist involves the control of inventory, restocking, certain areas of maintenance, logistics, and quick problem solving. Our job is to serve our troops by delivering the right equipment straight to their areas in need. Our job is to help our troops to always be prepared for whatever might come to us. From weapons, trucks, and food, we are the Experts. We use professional data base to keep track of our inventory, our finance, and to order more equipment.
