Other examples of transferable skills might include computer program experience; management experience; an ability to speak another language; problem-solving; and written and verbal communication.
When including these transferable skills, list them towards the top of your resume, underneath the summary section. Use a bulleted list with a heading that states "core qualifications" or "skills." When you are trying to think of all your transferable skills, make a list of things you have done that show you are adept at working with others, can handle problems, work effectively in teams, or can help a business be successful.
For example, you might talk about your ability to attend to detail; effective time management; a knack for initiating new ideas; an ability to motivate others; or developing evaluation strategies. For those making the transition from military to civilian life, do not use military terms or titles as many employers will not understand them; focus on skills used such as logistics or quality assurance.
