Supervised team of technicians in supporting day to day plant operations and maintenance activities requiring radiation protection oversight.

Duties included identifying work activities requiring RP job coverage, validating appropriate Radiation Work Permits were written and active to support the task, classifying the work according to risk per procedural guidance, and ensuring appropriate risk reviews were performed when valid. Additionally, validated all surveys performed in accordance with procedural and RWP guidance and performed reviews and approvals of all surveys ensuring they met the highest standards.

Managed technician work activities and job assignments, and performed oversight of job coverage activities, area postings and de-postings, surveys, and unconditional release of materials and equipment from the Radiological Control Areas.

Co-managed a large team of technicians during plant refueling outages including station technicians and supplemental technicians while providing guidance and oversight of plant refueling operations and maintenance. Generally assigned as Supervisor of CTMT refueling activities and upgrade projects, and many procedurally designated High Radiological Risk Activities including diving, radiography, fuel movement, entry into posted Very High Radiation Areas, transfer canal entries and entries under the reactor head.

Oversaw the ALARA program as the interim supervisor during the majority of 2019. Duties included assisting with development and review of online station ALARA goals, RWP development, daily ALARA dose reporting, Post Job Reviews, Work In Progress Reviews, Shielding Activities and CRE (Collective Rad Exposure) updates and projections.

Acted as the RP Operations training liaison for the last two years, coordinating training activities with the Training Instructor and scheduling training including classroom and On the Job Training. Performed classroom training for both Initial and Continuing training on many occasions as a SME (Subject Matter Expert). Maintained all technician qualifications and became qualified in all new duties prior to technicians to facilitate training of the tasks. Qualified as a On the Job Trainer and Task Performance Evaluator and performed and qualified technicians in all varieties of tasks required to become Senior Technician and Shift Technician Qualified.

Qualified as multiple positions in the Station Emergency Response Organization including Assistant Radiation Protection Supervisor and Manager Radiological Consequence Assessment.

Assigned as the lead technician on many online and outage activities such as the Refuel Bridge Upgrade Project, Bare Metal and Volumetric Inspections of the Reactor Head, Steam Generator Primary and Secondary Side cleaning and maintenance, Diving Activities, and Reactor Disassembly and Reassembly.

Qualified as Radiological Monitoring Team member on the Station Emergency Response Organization.

Responded as the on duty technicians for unusual events such as medical emergencies in the Radiological Control Area, Loss of Offsite power resulting in a dual unit trip, and various other plant transients.
