The biggest difference between a resume and a CV, surprisingly, is simply where in the world they appear. Resumes are standard in the United States, while most European countries use a CV. In terms of the content of the documents, they are amazingly similar.
Resumes have much stricter requirements. There are four specific sections that need to appear in every resume. These are a summary, qualifications section, experience section, and education section. These sections also appear in a CV, but there are usually a few extra sections added in as well. The specific sections you include in a CV depend on your experiences and what information you have to include. You may choose to have a section for your awards, publications, scholarships, and more.
