But how do you cram several jobs, a broad list of skills, your education, certifications, training, awards and a professional summary or an objective into one or two pages? There are a number of things you can do, but the most essential thing is to keep it relevant. Delete from your resume any old jobs that have no connection to the job you are applying for (example, your post-college job as a lifeguard when you are applying for a senior graphic designer position). Describe your work experience at a current or previous job in three to five bullet points.
Make sure the information you add to your resume is meaningful to the job you're applying for. Highlight achievements over responsibilities; and play up your skills. No matter which resume format you use, your skills should match the top skills listed in the job description.
