The length of your resume is surprisingly important. If it is too long, it may look like you are less qualified, but if it is too long, readers may become distracted before finishing. The general recommendation is for your resume to be one full page, without bleeding onto a second page.
Of course, there are a few exceptions to this rule. The most significant exception is professionals with a long work history. Trying to squeeze the entire experience section into one page would make the content weaker and less effective. In this situation, it is better to simply use a second page. As a rule of thumb, use one page for every 10 years of working experience you want to include on your resume.
