As a Service Operations Assistant, I was charged with many day-to-day activities which were vital to my store. First and foremost, I was and currently am, placed in charge of customer service. No matter the issue, big or small, I handled them directly, to provide customers with the most convenient and positive shopping experience I could muster. Such efforts were reflected in our store satisfaction surveys as my team and I managed to maintain above a 4.8 out of 5 in-store satisfaction, lasting for over a year.

Furthermore, at any given time, I was charged with managing upwards of thirty associates, ranging from cashiers to curtsey clerks, sanitation clerks, and customer service clerks. On any given day, I would develop a one on one relationship with each given associate not only to help them with challenges they faced, but to train them, and push them to meet various goals to develop them as better employees. Lastly, I would coach every employee to ensure that they remain efficient and safe in their portions. For example, each cashier was coached daily regarding our store's gift card policies to avoid falling victim to scams. On the other hand, my curtsey clerks, as well as sanitation clerks, were motivated to provide a clean and safe store environment for associates and customers alike. This is reflected by the fact that, since my tenure as SOA, our cleanliness "sweep logs" have never dipped below a 96% completion rate.

As well, I assisted in weekly scheduling as well as interviewing and training new hires. First, I have experience in making weekly schedules, maintaining a 95% and above efficiency rating. Furthermore, I also interviewed and trained new hires. During training, I would work one on one with new associates to provide them with the tools necessary to thrive in their new career.

Additionally, as SOA, I am charged for weekly record keeping and documentation for my front end. Every Sunday, as the week starts, I pull my cashier's numbers and analyze their strengths and weaknesses. As a result, I take analytics such as checker productivity, items per minute, and sales reduction activity, and have one on one conversations with my associates to better their performance on the front end.

Furthermore, I am charged with ordering on my front end. While on a smaller scale relative to the store, I ordered our candy, grab-and-go items, and tobacco. It was my goal to ensure that there were never any holes in my shelves and that inventory was stocked. Additionally, I was charged with performing regular inventories on my products.

As well as my above-mentioned tasks, I also managed several sales and charity campaigns. Regarding sales, I would push several promotional products (i.e. dollar bread, Monday muffin sales, etc.) through voy-calls and customer interaction. In several cases, our store outpaced most stores in our district, at times even receiving direct praise from our district manager. In terms of charity, I, alongside my manager and associates, would push various charitable promotions (i.e. food drives, hurricane relief, etc.). As a result, myself and my team would build elaborate displays, make store announcements, and provide customer interaction at the registers. As a result of our effort, we have raised countless thousands in monetary donations, as well as thousands of meals for deserving families. Our store has even placed in the top five for donations in almost every charitable promotion.

Aside from my daily management responsibilities, I also ran our customer service desk. As a result, I am well versed in the various services that my store offered. Examples of such are: Texas Lottery sales and redemption, Money order payments, bill and utility payments, Texas car tag registration renewals, and Western Union money wires. As well, I was also charged with handling any customer inconvenience with the customer-first mentality, providing refunds, exchanges, substitutions, and price adjustments to resolve and satisfy any customer that arrived at my desk.

Additionally, as the closing front-end person in charge, I handled the store's safe. On the one hand, I was tasked with providing loans to registers, money pickups, and till audits and balances. Furthermore, I conducted armored car pickups, ensuring funds would arrive at the bank, without error. As well, I was also tasked with performing nightly safe audits where I counted every cent within the store to ensure no shortages or overages were present.

Lastly, although I am in management, I acted as a man of many talents. For example, if my front end needed help, I would never hesitate to operate a register, close the store, collect trash, clean spills, or collect carts. Additionally, I assisted other departments whenever called upon. For example, I routinely helped my grocery manager to build displays, stock shelves, and even unload shipments. As well, as I am food safety trained, I have assisted our bakery through packaging and our produce department through culling and have even operated our meat and deli counters. Furthermore, I am trained to make price changes and replace tags throughout our store. Lastly, I have experience in our floral department, not only helping customers with flowers and balloons but also building arrangements.

Lastly, I worked in our store's FMC department, working overnight to replace tags and run price corrections.
