With over 15 years experience in juvenile corrections I was asked to be the point of contact and compliance officer for an audit. Selected by the Deputy Commissioner to internally front run an audit that would afford a transition for the Department of Juvenile Justice standards to be aligned with, and adopt The American Correctional Association standards and gain Accreditation. Department of Juvenile Justice/Muscogee Youth Development Campus was successful in passing the audit at almost 100%. Muscogee YDC was the first youth detention center to pass the ACA audit and ignite a chain reaction throughout all of the Department of Juvenile Justice in working to gain accreditation through ACA .

Leasing Activities such as lease contracts and understanding how they relate to DESC policies; utilizing spreadsheets and a filing system, certification eligibility, leasing renewals, and lease violations. Intervene in crisis, respond to emergencies, and initiate action as required, including contact with emergency response systems. Write significant events involving residents and building operations activities in daily logs. Respond to resident complaints.
As a Certified Adjunct Instructor for the State of Georgia-Department of Juvenile Justice I trained security and non-security staff up to 40 hours annually. I recorded and maintained files for each employee. I am proficient using Microsoft Office, Excel, Internet, and conducting PowerPoint Presentations. I assist with conducting interviews and orientation for new hires. Ensured new hires completed the necessary training (HIPPA, PREA, Harassment, etc). Performed clerical duties such as faxing, copying/printing, scanning documents and operating multi-line telephones.
Prior to becoming the facility training coordinator I was a Shift Lieutenant. I ensured the daily operations were followed according to policy and local operating procedures. Assisted the department head in the management in security and safety of youth detention facility programs. Conducted daily inspections of facility, and provided support to 16 line staff that work directly with the youth. Assisted payroll by maintaining my subordinates Kronos daily. I upheld the progressive discipline process which is intended to assist the employee in rectifying deficient performance by alerting him or her
to deficiencies and outlining steps for improvement as well as consequences for failure to improve in identified areas.
