01/2012 to 02/2015 Program Assistant Goodwill Of North Georgia | Marietta, GA,

As a program assistant, for the United States Army I served in many different positions within the building. At all times, I kept current on my CPR, First aid,AED, and serve safe training. As well as yearly requirements for both the Army and the Child Development Requirements.

  • While in the classroom, I was responsible for the daily lesson plans, supervision, documentation of development, love, and safety of a group of children aged 24 months to 48 months of age. Most of the children were dropped off as early as 5:30 in the morning and were within our care until 6 at night.
  • In the Kitchen, I was responsible for the assistant of prepping, cooking, serving and cleaning of the Breakfast, Lunch and Snack dishes for a building of 150 children.
  • Administrative Assistant, While working as an Administration specialist, I was responsible for answering calls and forwarding them to the correct personal from a multi-line phone. Greeting, checking identification, and keeping track of all children and adults who entered the building. Reporting to parents and medical officials of incident reports. Giving tours to new families and answering questions about our facility. Copying, producing spreadsheets, newsletters and calendar of events were also produced by me during my time working as an administration specialist
  • Head Medical personal- While working as a Program Assistant, I oversaw all medications, ointments, and doctor forms for all children of the building. As well as conducted monthly checks on all first aid bags, doctor forms, and medications.
  • Financial, While working with the finances as a program assistant, I was responsible for cost analysis forms, for every purchases within the building and ensuring that the purchases met the military requirements, being the cheapest for the best quality. I kept track of the government credit cards and kept records, on all expenses. I also established the filing system and switched all previous files to this system to be kept for 10 years before they were destroyed.

While Working as a program assistant for the United States Army, I served in most of the positions within the building, and met every challenge that was brought my way, working to not only meet but over achieve in every aspect possible. I left this position in February of 2015 just one month prior to the birth of my oldest son.

During the school year I served as a Teachers Aid, for the 4's classroom, assisting students of all abilities develop life long learning skills, and friendships.

  • Collaborated with other teachers in our open floor plan childcare center to merge lesson plans and adapt them to students changing interests.

During the summer session I re-founded, and restructured our hippo classroom which served as a classroom for our kindergarten to 12 year old alumni. As this was only a summer program, there was no space for us within the child development center, so the city was our classroom. Utilizing the college campus and city centro buses, I planned daily field trips, Taught bus, animal (bears and moose), and stranger safety as well as planning and implementing different daily activities to enhance the development and growth of every child. Lesson plans were planned based on the current interest in the children as they explored their surroundings and developed questions, such as the life cycle of Frogs.

  • Helped to establish an Extended Kindergarten room (while kindergarten was only half day), Responsibilities were to work with the teachers of the students enrolled to extend their knowledge and understanding of what they were learning in the classroom.
  • Provide a safe environment where the students could build healthy relationships among their peers
  • Preformed all basic necessities for the children, from lesson planning, activity organizing, supply shopping, cooking and medical needs.
