It sounds like this is a new position within the company, which also means it is not as defined as other positions may be, but I find this to be extremely enticing. Being that the primary function of the company is generating shop drawings and architectural references for new and existing products, my background in AutoCAD, Inventor, ProDesktop, Solidworks, and Mastercam will allow for a more fluid adaptation into the industry. I am currently the facility liaison between sales, design, production, and quality control for a packaging manufacturer that employs 32 team members. I make it a point to check in with each person every day to ensure clear communication between departments, but also to check that concerns are heard, suggestions are noted, and the we are doing everything possible to continue moving in a successful direction.

Throughout my professional career, I have found opportunities with prominent small businesses that have provided me with a unique education in how thorough and creative process solutions can drive growth. Over the past three years, I have served as the Production Coordinator of a local custom packaging manufacturer. Over that period of time, it was essential to vet and hire the correct team members to ensure continued growth. Working with employees that have differing learning styles, personalities, and skill sets allows for a versatile facility and an edge when encountering new and uncharted challenges. Having the opportunity to utilize an adaptive training style and manage personnel with varying abilities has at times been a challenge, but with great reward. Knowing what you have in your team members allows you to get the very best out of the facility. With a hands on leadership style, I have amassed a moderate wealth of technical knowledge that has given me the capability to quickly learn details of new equipment, processes, and technology.

In the ad, there was mention of the perfect candidate being a “self-starter” which is a great way to describe my time as a production coordinator. I was instrumental in streamlining production scheduling to improve on time delivery, implementing LEAN manufacturing principles, and cementing quality control practices to maximize efficiency. These “foundation” items were missing before I hired on as it was a small company that grew quickly, almost too quickly. It was a true uphill battle to install that foundation while experiencing unprecedented growth, a honest lesson in trial and error, as well as persistence.

Not only do I bring a fresh perspective to teambuilding, but I also believe in creating a more enjoyable atmosphere within the office. I am looking for the opportunity to bring my leadership abilities and technical knowledge to a new and expanding team to help meet and exceed future growth goals, and ultimately help that team stand out against competitors.
