A trip for a structural geology class consisting of many stops (including an abandoned quarry and state park). Mild hiking involved. Identified rock types, bedrock, strike and dip, lineations, and ripple marks. In groups, data was sketched and compiled data to aid in the interpretation of the Baraboo Syncline. Strike/dip data graphed on a digital stereonet for analysis and geologic derivative complete.

A paleontology trip. History, preservation, and sketching of aquatic Devonian fauna and flora fossils. Paleoenvironment concluded with data.
-Mazon Fossil Beds, IL Personal trip.
Educated about Mazonia fauna and flora. Collected nodules in the creek water. Used a freeze and thaw method to open the specimens for examination.
-Local Quarry in Rock Island, IL
A group trip. Extracted fossils from Silurian limestone and learned of asphalt compositions.
