Career Focus

Beginning with a Corporate Internship Program in High School, I've been in the work force for much of my life and something I'm constantly looking to advance forward in. Within these positions I've worked directly with other people as well as assigned personal independent projects, both of which I've performed to my employer's and my own personal standards. Many of my positions were entry-level because I was performing them while simultaneously enrolled in school but now that I'm close to graduating I'm looking for must sustaining and engaging work. I hope to carry over the years of skills I've developed from my various career fields into something that will both satisfy and challenge me.

Work Experience
06/2011 to Current
Customer Service Specialist, Mobile Sales Consultant Fountainhead Development Ester, AK,
  • Listening to a customer's needs and desires and catering a solution to them, working registers and the various data systems, maintaining clean work areas, and training new members of the staff to the various policies and need-to-knows of our organization.
  • Several times I've been recognized as the leading performer in the store and occasionally the district which encompasses several other Best Buy locations. This is quantified by the ability to produce revenue and profit, attach Best Buy's services, and inspire positive survey comments.
  • I was also trained/utilized in the Customer Service department to help them in the busier Holiday times so in a short time span I was trained in their unique systems and utilized within their department.
  • Over the long period that I've worked there I've worked with countless customers of all backgrounds to pursue their unique solutions and advance the company's bottom line.
  • Being able to juggle various things at once, as it is a retail store I must increase my productivity to compensate for a larger workload so as to ensure every customer gets helped.
05/2013 to 07/2013
Front Desk Clerk Hastings Lake YMCA City, STATE,
  • Greeting members and providing information to inquiries, processing transactions and filing paperwork, keeping my work area tidy and closing the facilities for the night.
  • Being the front desk clerk, I possessed the most authority when there wasn't a manager in the facility, which was often.
  • I was responsible for spearheading emergency response procedures and trusted with responding to and dealing with member issues. I successfully handled a few of these scenarios and was commended by my management for my professional assessment of the situation and execution of the relevant training and guidelines.
  • In my time there I've become a proficient and resourceful user in the YMCA'S new data system and often helped and instructed others in its navigation a short while into my engagement there.
  • Becoming a familiar and welcoming face is must for a YMCA employee, as the organization is local and family driven.
  • I quickly became well associated with many of the "regulars" there and soon became a respected member of the staff due to my ability to connect with our members and establish a friendly and comfortable rapport.
07/2010 to 05/2011
Corporate Internship Program - Intern MacLean-Fogg Company City, STATE,
  • I handled most of the filing for the Human Resources Department and therefore was the person most familiar with its usage and organization.
  • Alongside filing, I would enter information for the company into its various data systems, and due to my speed and accuracy with a keyboard I quickly became a trusted and respected author of their information systems.
  • When I wasn't working for the HR department I manned the front desk and operated their phones and directed walk-ins.
  • I didn't work exclusively for a single department there, as there wasn't a sufficient workload in a single one to justify my position there so my time was split between whatever department needed my help. Each one had specific tasks or system-specific programs that I had to become familiar and proficient in.
  • I managed to juggle between the various departments there while still keeping on top of all my duties and performing them to their standards.
  • I became quite adept at my front desk duties and this skill would translate later into my receptionist duties at my future places of employment.
01/2008 to 05/2010
Corporate Internship Program - Intern Condell Medical Center City, STATE,
  • Working in the Payroll department, it was very important that I correctly file and enter employee and Payroll information into their systems and due to my apt entry abilities I became an essential data agent within their department.
  • Tasks that were held for certain employees before soon were relegated into my more trustworthy hands.
  • It was within Condell's Payroll department that I started data entry and filing and realized I had a knack for it.
  • Being able to quickly scan through paper documents and file/author whatever relevant information was something I developed here and would be the basis for various tasks I did at my future positions.

I've very much artistic minded. In my spare time, I've taught myself to draw and I hope to develop my drawing further with my free time. I've also taught myself how to read sheet music as well as learning music theory which I've employed by picking up the piano. I take vocal lessons every week and I have a choir I attend.

I'm a regular gym-goer and am constantly experimenting with different meal plans so as to best maximize my body's growth and development
