In the retail environment I originally worked my way up from a sales associate to assistant manager in three months. Continually exceeded sales goals and plans for opening new credit accounts. I have worked in high-end, client based retail and banking for sixteen years. In that time I have created and successfully implemented new ways of clienteling to build a strong customer base for the stores and branches I have worked in. I have been transferred and promoted to higher volume locations as a result of my successes. I have succeeded in community outreach positions that have given me valuable experience in networking and event planning. I am a true extrovert and people person, a genuine listener that is committed to making the customer/client feel that I am on their team, and will work to take care of them.
I started my career at S&T as a teller, and was quickly promoted to the position of Certified Retail Sales Associate/Personal Banker. In this position I was able to use my background in both sales and clienteling to build a loyal customer base that trusted me to help in their financial planning and loan needs. I had goals to meet for opening new accounts, loan applications taken and loans closed, new money booked at my branch as well as opening and servicing IRAs. This position also greatly expanded my knowledge and capability with technology, since there were multiple Excel spreadsheets I used to track my sales and multiple computer programs I worked with daily to service my loans and IRAs in compliance with federal regulations. In my three years with S&T I received multiple awards highlighting my successes including the prestigious Peak Performance award. I had an amazing experience and relationship with this company and S&T looks forward to having me back if I ever wish to return to banking or full time employment outside of the home.
I worked as a contracted freelance Visual Merchandiser with Winston Retail that is based out of New York and San Francisco. I took on clients and jobs at my discretion in my free time from my full-time job. My clients were specific apparel and accessory brands for large retailers such as, Lucy and adidas for Dick's Sporting goods, Hagger, Izod, and Life is Good for Kohls, Under Armour and Vera Bradley for Macy's and Columbia Sportswear for Gander Mountain. I managed my own schedule and set up meetings with the retailers to set the new merchandise for my brands, dress the mannequins, ensure inventory and standards are upheld, and review sales reports. I then took pictures and comprised a report that I submitted to my client account representatives either bi-weekly ot monthly to track what is working and selling in my area.
I was one of a four part management team. My division of responsibility
focused on back of house organization. I managed shipment receiving and processing, stockroom organization, monthly store and loss prevention audits, inventory, sales and credit card goal setting. I as well assisted in monthly floorsets, planning and running of the client and community events to acquire new customers and build sales. Daily tasks included; opening and closing of the store, balancing of petty cash and cash drawers, working the sales floor, hiring and training of new associates, payroll and scheduling, and nightly deposits.
I was recognized as a top performer monthly, quarterly and yearly. I Set and achieved conversion and sales goals for the entire team, handled clienteling, audits, hiring, payroll, as well as daily opening and closing tasks. I managed all visual standards for the store. I traveled to other locations that were struggling, to help bring the stores up to standard. Mentored staff to enhance skills and achieve daily targets, using hands-on and motivational leadership. Planned and prepared workflow schedules, delegating tasks for a 10+ member team. Enforced company policies and procedures to strengthen operational standards across departments. Reviewed sales reports to enhance sales performance and improve inventory management accuracy.
I attended Lexington Community College for 3 years before transferring to the University of Kentucky. I was a Dean's list recipient multiple semesters before withdrawing to work full-time.
