Yakima, WA, 01/2008 - Current
I began working in the Westwego location in February of 2008. In October of 2008, I requested a transfer to the Marrero location due to the high volume of customers and the ability to learn more about banking. I learned the basic everyday transactions of deposits and withdrawals along with opening and closing accounts. I also learned how to open certificate of deposits along with closing them or even do partial withdrawals if needed, including individual retirement accounts (IRA's). In May of 2012 I was promoted to Senior Teller of the Marrero location. I learned more about the management side of banking including running a smooth office and how to maintain not only my own personal teller drawer, but also my own vault drawer. I made decisions regarding holds on a case by case status. I also pulled the NSF activity lists a few times and made decisions on the customers who were pulled on those days. I gave overrides, helped/taught tellers information that they were not confident with and also had the ability to sign bank checks and official checks. I ran the teller line smoothly from the lunch schedules to working as a Team. For there is a variety of jobs I learned and performed with high quality work, I had yet had the advantage to learn about mortgage loans or equity lines of credit.
