I am currently employed with the city of San Diego in the welder classification. I have preformed every type of assignment as a welder. My assignments have included. 12 years assigned to the outside Mobil welding truck. This assignment often required immediate response and completion to enhance public safety. This is an independent assignment that requires performing repairs in an expeditiously manner Often to avert public complaints and concerns. I have performed various diverse task in this assignment. Including fabricating and constructing structures utilized by the SDPD to secure evidence and impound vehicles. I have worked with the water department on multiple occasions repair and 48 inch main lines all the way down to 24 inch. I have worked at all water department facilities. I built and constructed 12 platforms that are 80 feet off the ground. I was tasked with the design installation and acquisition of all parts including safety parts and safety fall arrest for the ladders that we installed. Designed fabrication and installation of 700 feet of stainless steel handrail for the boardwalk in Pacific Beach. This project required coordination with Park and recreation department,engineeringdepartment, stormwater department as well as risk management. I was the lead contact for this project and coordinated all phases at times supervising as many as 12 employees. Typically these assignments require a complete design fabrication and installation material requisition to meet the customers needs. I have worked with nearly every department in the city of San Diego and my assignments range from minor repairs to major overhauls on most assets on and maintain by the city. Often these assignments are emergency calls to protect the public as well as employees from hazards. And required immediate independent decision to expedite timely repairs. Assignments often required interaction with the public to accommodate their concerns. I have received multiple accolades as a result of my interaction with the public as well as city employees. My duties require working with other departments coordinate and supervise others to complete repairs.
