At the end of eighth grade, I chose "leadership training" as one of my two high school electives. I soon realized that I had found my calling. Over four years at Robinson Secondary School (RSS), I have lead four committees planning and implementing homecoming dances, pep rallies, and sporting events. I have thrived on the pressure and responsibility of leading successful RSS events. This year, I was elected to the executive council of my Student Government Class, where in addition to leading committees, I help the younger kids in the class develop leadership skills.
Organization: Organization is one of my strong suits. Since elementary school, I have completed assignments the day they were assigned. My mindset of "do it now rather than later" has stayed with me through high school. My organization has led me to a 4.4 GPA, despite the stress and pressure that comes with an honors and IB workload. Organization has directly supported me in earning A's in all nine of my IB/AP classes, election to the RSS Executive Council and a hard-won volunteer position with INOVA Fairfax Hospital's Patient Support Services.
Enthusiasm: My first day of ninth grade, I was thrilled with the opportunities via many different organizations and clubs at RSS. Today I am a member of the RSS National, Spanish, Medical and English Honor Societies and the Partners Club which integrates special education and mainstreamed students. Involvement in so many interesting organizations has boosted my confidence and leadership skills and expanded my horizons. I have had a wonderful place at RSS and made the most of my high school experience.
