I went to the same private school from Kindergarten to graduation, and mostly had the same people in all my classes. During my time in school, I learned the value of friendships; developed the importance of hard work; and was encouraged to always follow my dreams. I graduated as the salutatorian of my class; was involved in 4-H, FCA, FCS, and Beta Club for several years; and I was the photographer and editor of the yearbook my senior year.
Through obtaining my degree in Speech-Language Pathology at ULM, I truly learned the importance of hard work and dedication, the importance of not procrastinating, how to work in a group, and developed skills in meeting new people and making new friends. I maintained good grades throughout college and graduated from a 4-year program in only 3 and a half years, because of my motivation and hard work. At ULM, I was involved in a program called "Up Til Dawn" and we raised awareness and money for St. Jude Hospital. This experience changed me as a person, because I had hands-on experience with this and we were each given a child's name and their diagnosis as motivation. This was a tough, but heartwarming experience for me and I would love to be able to do that again. I loved knowing that I was helping others, even though I will never meet that child or her family. I was also involved with the BCM on campus during my time in college. This was a fun experience because I got to meet new and different people, and help teach others about Christ, while learning new, or more, things every week. I was also a member of the Emerging Scholars Program for a semester, and I was on the Dean's List for 3 semesters.
When I was in high school, I was involved in my church, and the community in discipleship and outreach. I was also involved in my school's Beta organization, student council president one year, and 4-H, which each allowed me to experience new things and meet new people. I was also awarded 3rd place in physical science at the ABC Rally and determined to be a lifesaving hero by being a blood donor throughout high school. Also, soon after graduating high school, I became a member of the National Honors Society.
