Medical Biller Clerk, 08/2009 to Current
Gc Services Limited Partnership – El Paso , TX
40+ hours per week. $11.00 hourly.
Accuracy is a must to be able to work in a fast paced office like the one I have been working for the past five years. Dealing with more than 30 providers and their money is a lot of responsibility. I am in charge of the posting department and have two employees under my supervision. I have to meet deadlines brought to me by the owner of this company. I have trained numerous employees to do what I do as a money poster.I also take on new assignments almost everyday, which they are accomplished. I go through many documents that I have to decide what to do and how to deal with it in order to get the proper payment from the insurance or member. I believe I do meet the three elements listed in order to qualify for this job.
I also submit claims to insurance companies. Follow up to check on rejected claims and fix them to resubmit. Process payments from insurance companies. Collect, post and manage patients' accounts. Review delinquent accounts and call member/patients for collection purposes. Sort and file paperwork. Ensure healthcare facilities are reimburse properly for all procedures. Maintain strict confidentiality. HIPPA compliant, took class and have copy of certificate. Report any insurance overpayment to doctor to avoid any type of what might be taken as fraud. Create log ins for providers in multiple insurance websites. For a year and a half I would make deposits for the company and for multiple doctors.
Accounts Receivable Clerk, 09/2008 to 03/2009
Coda Logistics And Distribution – Port Reading , NJ
40 hours per week. $10.00 hourly
Called clients on a daily basis to remind them of past due balances, collecting money from delinquent account holders. In charge of coming to an agreement to make payments in order to avoid account being sent to collections. Forwarded accounts that were not paid in a timely manner to the credit bureau. Good communications skills was a must with company's truck drivers for bin pick ups or removals from a specific address.
Data Entry Clerk, 06/2005 to 07/2006
Fidelity National Information Services – Bolingbrook , IL
40 hours per week. $11.15 hourly.
Processed a high volume of different types of insurance claims, on a daily basis. Accuracy was the number one priority in this job, since these claims were time sensitive and we could not spend time fixing errors. Sorted and distributed mail, filed and updated schedules that my direct supervisor would assign me. In charge of scanning and forwarding the images to other Cuna Mutual Group offices around the country.
Legal Certification Clerk Trainee, 06/2005 to 07/2005

Analyzed applications for legal documents requested by the public or government agencies. Certified copies of Vital Statistics records such as birth, marriage and death certificates. Issued and certified the final legal document after having inspected for accuracy, sufficient information, and made sure it satisfied government codes and regulations. Since I was working though a temporary agency, I was transferred to Cuna Mutual Group.
Receptionist/Director of Activities, 01/2005 to 05/2005

Receptionist duties, called on behalf of residents different doctors' offices to schedule appointments. 
Dealt with tense situations when a resident, since most of them where suffering from Alzheimer's disease or dementia, would go though a stressful situation. I always kept my posture and talk to them until they felt calm and secure again.
I would create an exercise schedule, organized board games tournaments for the residents. Encouraged them to dance and converse among themselves.
If we were short staffed I would help in the kitchen helping serve the plates to the tables or helping with the basics.
Data Entry Supervisor, 04/2002 to 06/2004

As a data entry clerk, processed dental, medical and professional claims. Revised and corrected other employees' work. Responsible for training new employees to process claims and to input different types of applications. A couple of months later I was promoted to supervisor. Relocated to Rancho Cucamonga, CA for a month to learn a new data entry software. Then I was sent to work to Mexicali, B.C., Mexico. Trained and supervised twelve production employees to process different types of claims. Revised, corrected, and audited employee productivity through computer based methods. Sent daily production via e-mail and documents through mail. Supervised three more employees in mail room.
