I take all calls from the doctors offices and hospitals that are looking for records on patients that are having surgeries, or doctors appointments. I make appts for patients, schedule test, fax test results, scan in medical records, test results and any thing else that they doctors need. We have 4 offices and I use to travel to 3 of them as a float and I do front and back office. I am a medical assistant as well as a front office assistant. I check patient in when they come in and register new patients, check their insurances, have call for prior authorizations and dealt with the insurances when it comes to finding out what their recommendations are for that patient. I also deal with prescriptions putting them in and also checking patients out after they have seen the doctor. We also have a WOCA email, that I do which is a email from the 7 doctors in the practice that come to me on a daily basis for things that they want done for patients. Whether it be to call a patient a tell them their blood work is good or if its to get records on a patient. It could be to call a patient and to find out why they didn't show up and to reschedule them. Also at the end of the day I go thru schedules and print out all the schedules and report all the no shows for the day so they can be charged. I also do all the faxes in the office and sort them out to which doctor they have to go to and pull notes if it is required for the patient. I deal with all the patients forms of FMLA, D.O.T, Disability forms and al other forms and the money that goes along with it. Give the doctors their folders and follow up and make sure I get them back and then take care of what needs to be done with them. On a daily basis.
