Volunteer Work

From school year 2013-2014 I volunteered my time with our high schools AF JROTC while my children attended and were in the program, corps. My time lasted until 2020; just when the pandemic shut everything down for my two graduating seniors; including a lull year when I didn't have a student in the corps. In my time there, I dedicated myself to soliciting donations, in-kind or monetary, sponsorships and partnerships, chaperoning our drill competition; in state and out, field trips and our bi - annual Washington D.C class trip. I was the Senior parent who helped set up, organize and run our annual home drill competition. I rallied other cadet parents to contribute where their time and strengths would allow. In one day I was responsible for set ups, scheduling to cover our different stations for multiple shifts and other various needs, cash boxes, making and getting change for cash boxes, running raffles and vendor set up and overall compliance. The end of the day saw the cash box settlements; being responsible for a few thousand dollars. Years of cemetery clean ups, drill comps and a number of other various volunteer work with the cadets, assigning, delegating, organizing, scheduling. I would do it all over again.

Three years of assistant cookie mom with their Girl Scout troop. Helping to run booths, account for boxes sold and cash sales.

Personal Statement

I may not have any formal training, schooling in any one area, but in all my opportunities I have had, I have advanced or been offered the opportunity of advancement due to my work ethic, my dive, my goal orientated style and my willingness to try and learn anything I possibly can. I spent years being a single parent and had three children dependant on me. I worked two jobs at once to provide. There are some things you just cannot learn in a classroom.
