Certified Nursing Assistant offering over 1 year of experience in healthcare environments. Excellent time management abilities with compassionate bedside manner and astute observational skills. Knowledgeable about mobility assistance and patient hygiene needs. I am able to catch on very fast and learn how to do different tasks. I truly love working with residences and helping them. I am able to form good relationships with them and their family. I am also able to work with different types of staff members. We are all a team at the end of the day having one goal. To make sure that the residences are safe and healthy.
When I was a CNA at Care Partners, I started with doing the simple things. I would help the residences to bed, get them dressed, give them showers, assisted them to the bathroom and serve them dinner. As time went on I started to do more and more task. I was able to get medically certified and I was then passing medications, narcotic's, doing blood pressures, blood sugars and heart rate. This summer I had the responsibility of being the only medically certified passer on my weekends which I was then performing assistance with my residences but also giving all the medications that were needed to be given that night. This summer I also experienced death which was something I have never experienced before. I was actually given the compliment from the head nurse that works there and told me how he was impressed how I was able to handle these responsibilities and keep myself together. I would give people morphine and help the family with their needs.
As a server, I started off with just being a hostess, I learned the menu, took orders over the phone, cleaned the tables, learned a good method that worked for me when there was a lot going on and I had to sit people as well. I then served and talked to people more. I had to do many things at one time. I truly enjoyed being a waitress because I was on my feet a lot and my nights went by fast. I would stay and help the closers clean up as well. We are all a team when we are there and I felt it was not fair for me to just leave.
