I served as a firefighter for over twenty years. I spent 7 years in Cowen Volunteer Fire Department and was an administrative officer (treasurer) and EMT and nearly 20 years in the Webster Springs Volunteer Fire Department as a firefighter, EMT, and line officer. I also drove ambulance for Webster Ambulance in the late 1970s and 1980s.

My work with the federal government as an inspector, supervisor, and manager has allowed me to work and manage emergency situations that has given me knowledge and the mental ability to handle the a diversity of situations.

My work as a private business owner for over thirty years has given great knowledge in supervising personnel, accounting, and budgeting.
