responsible for 200 plus client and ensured that they received the best
treatment possible. I was required to have the most up
to date knowledge of community resources and services available
to the substance misuse population. I maintained close
contact to clients by providing follow up calls and mailing letters
for contact. I also maintained contact by setting up
follow up appointments with clients. I was required to be crisis trained
and in that I was required to provide crisis services
during business hours to walk in clients. I have an advanced
knowledge of assessing level of risk and level of acuity
and was required to utilize clinical intervention skills to
de-escalate a crisis situation. I was responsible for
running monthly utilization reports that were collected and presented
quarterly to CFO and CEO of the agency. The
reports were used to keep the unit funded and relevant in our community. I
facilitated wellness and informational
groups with ASU clients, that helped maintain positivity, self advocacy, and
the most
up to date resource information.

stabilization unit along with ten staff that included five
Emergency medical technicians and five behavioral health
specialists. This position required me to oversee the safety of
clients and maintain a clean and comfortable unit for
clients recovering from substance misuse. I was required to design
groups based on recovery based techniques that would
allow clients to retrieve information in regard to resources in the
community and referrals to long term treatment
facilities. I reviewed clinical documents for accuracy and completeness to
ensure that clients were receiving the best treatment
possible. I held weekly staff meetings in which my staff were able to
voice concerns for the unit and participate in decisions
that would other wise be made for them. I maintained schedules
for the staff and allowed for open
communication between myself and staff. I was required to stay up to date on
trainings
involving substance abuse/misuse/addiction and was
required to train staff on such information in order to give the best
treatment available to clients.

safety to adults place on the Alcohol Stabilization
Unit. Assisted in client groups, provide transportation,
assisted clients in daily living activities, provided social activities,
monitored
and supervised client activity and provided other direct client services.
Obtained vital signs as directed.
Assisted in the monitoring of client self-administration
of medication. Arranged transportation of clients to medical
facilities and other treatment facilities as needed.
