In the fall of 2022, I was a Supervisor for the local Recreational Soccer League in town. In this position, I monitored the fields and ensured that coaches, parents, referee staff, and players knew where to go, ensured that the referee staff was performing their responsibilities correctly, prepared the field for gameplay prior to scheduled games, made sure games start and end on time, and communicated with the program league manager regarding needed items and field conditions.
In the summer of 2022, I was a lifeguard for the Avalon beach patrol on the New Jersey shore, in which I was part of an elite lifeguard corps that protects swimmers from various ocean conditions and served to protect the beach-going community from the potential dangers of the water.
In the summer of 2021, I worked as a Camp Counselor for Spa 23, where I supervised 4th and 5th-grade boys. During this time, I interacted with and supervised children from the ages of Kindergarten all the way through 8th grade, playing countless different games and carrying out several activities, from a simple game of chess, to on the playground to supervising them swimming in the water.
In the fall of 2017, I undertook the position of Senior Patrol Leader of Boy Scout Troop 144 and carried this role for two years thereafter. Over the course of this time as an SPL, I lead meetings on a weekly basis, planned outings and troop activities on a monthly basis, and ultimately served as the main point of contact between the youth members and adult leaders that made up our program. I represented the needs of all and embraced the inquiries of what scouts and leaders had to offer. I became the backbone of the troop and ensured that the guidelines and policies of BSA were met while also prioritizing everyone to feel accepted, safe, and fulfilled with their scouting experience.
In the fall of 2018, I completed my Eagle Scout Project. In order to complete this, I had to develop a plan, present it for approval, allocate funds to raise money, organize a team of volunteers, and ultimately conduct the project successfully. In service of this role, I developed a project that would give back to the community. My project was to revamp/beautify the entrance of Pequannock Valley Park. In doing this, all old bushes/shrubs were removed, and new plants were put in place of it. PV Park is a staple of the town, and my project was carried out to benefit members of the community now, and for generations to come. Throughout this time, I demonstrated leadership skills, organizational abilities, and an endearing commitment to community service. After evaluating the project, documenting its completion, and submitting a final report detailing the project and its outcome, I achieved the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America program, the Eagle Scout award.
