  • Preforming weld repair/hardfacing build up and grinding to factory clearance of horizontal twin screw press flights at sugar beat, fish and citrus processing plants.
  • Preformed QC and documentation for installation, rolling and seal welding of heat exchangers tubes in new sulfuric acid heat exchangers with as many as 1854 SS tubes 2-1/2" OD by 34" long.
  • Field line boring to include weld repair and machining to size of bores as well as repairing holes by boring oversize and installing bushings.
  • Various field and shop related machining and mechanical projects including: field machining of UHMW seal rings for Phosphoric acid filters, grinding of trunnions and tires on granulation driers and wear rings on Phosphoric acid filter wear tracks under filter. Teardown and rebuilding of assemblies for mining, powerplant industries at our facility as well as other work at customer facilities across Florida as well as in other states nation wide.

  • Started out as a mechanic for part of the year.
  • I accepted the service manager position holding that position for over 8 years.
  • Repaired and maintained heavy equipment that pruned citrus trees all around mid and southern Florida citrus areas. Each of these machines had two Detroit diesel engines, 140 tooth saw blades ranging from 28" to 39" in diameter. Some machines had two arms that could reach up to 21' vertically into the trees with 6 saw blades on each arm. The saws were belt driven by two 6000psi hydraulic motors. Another machine had one 30Kw generator and 4 saws mounted to a rotating star on an arm and were driven by electric motors and belts.
  • I worked on Detroit diesel engines, control hydraulic systems, Clark Axles, Alison and Clark transmissions, 12V, 24V and 230V 3PH electrical systems.
  • Field repair of equipment and vehicles
  • "Off Season" Teardown, analyses, planning, ordering and rebuilding of all machines, trucks, trailers and saw sharpening equipment at this facility in Florida. I have also done some repair work at the main office in Ventura California.
  • Went to yearly and then quarterly budget meetings in Ventura California.
  • The Florida division of Kimball Toppers has since closed, however, the main facility of Kimball Toppers in California is still in operation.
