Primary focus of job was to work with clients in the community to locate potential fathers for children and establish new and modify existing child support orders. Also worked closely with court staff to ensure cases were prepped and ready for necessary court actions. Was responsible for preparing legal documents as well as maintain a high level of confidentiality. Forged connections with other staff within the county such as Economic Support, Marathon County Clerk and Courts, Marathon County Corporation Counsel, Probation and Parole and social work staff within the building to assist in bringing about the most positive outcome for my clients and providing them with the needed resources to best fit their situation. Customer service was a very high priority.
During my employment I was highly involved in numerous committees that focused on communication for employees as well as planning and executing fun team building activities for staff.
Primary job duties included filing paperwork and keeping records organized. Was also trained to cover the records clerk window as well as the switchboard for the courthouse.
In January of 2007 I was hired on as a full time county employee at the records clerk window. I processed payments, made copies for staff and customers, kept files organized and assisted many law offices with required documents they needed.
After some time as the file clerk I moved into a position as the court clerk for the Court Commissioner. I worked in a very fast paced environment keeping the minutes for hearings, working to ensure documents and files were prepared and ready for the hearings and troubleshooting any issues that might arise with technology required for hearings.
While I transitioned throughout numerous duties within the clerk of courts office I continued to spend any spare time stepping in to assist with filing duties as well as assist front desk personnel with opening new cases and any extra duties and responsibilities as needed.
Was a student worker for the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point financial aid department. Assisted students with the application process, determining their financial aid status and application status and finding solutions to financial difficulties. At time of graduation from the university I was the lead worker and trained and overlooked other student workers in the department.
Earned my degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Early Childhood Special Education.
Graduated with high honors with a 4.2 overall GPA.
