Company NameAircraft Ordnance Systems Inspector | City | June 2001 - January 2007Served
as an egress systems certified inspector for the U. S Air Force. Removed,
installed, troubleshoots, modified, and inspected Aircrew Egress Systems and
related Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE). Inspected completed maintenance
actions for proper assembly, installation, routing, and security. Performed
in-process inspections at critical steps prior to maintenance completion.
Served as production inspector and inspected the work of other egress
technicians with authority to accept or reject work. Determined serviceability
of installed items, assemblies, and components of aircraft egress systems and
related subsystems. Cleared aircraft forms, records, and related documentation.
Egress systems inspected are from a wide variety of aircraft and models to
include B1, B2, B52, F16, F22, and T38 including the Advanced Concept Ejection
Seat (ACES II) and Martin Baker Mk16 Seat, which typically involve many
components and assemblies with rigid specifications and close tolerances.
Performed interpretation or adjustment due to the presence of special instrumentation
or modifications not addressed in standard technical data. Inspection
techniques include visual inspection in addition to several methods of
measurement by various tools and instruments, some of which are specifically
designed for egress systems maintenance. Utilized appropriate technical data
and personnel protective equipment in the performance of maintenance duties.
Installed proper protective equipment and safety devices as required when
performing maintenance on egress components and related equipment. Observed and
practiced safety in accordance with applicable directives. Installed, removed,
inspected, repaired, and modified egress systems and related support equipment.
Installed, removed, inspected, repaired, and replaced components of egress systems
to include seals, lines, tubing, regulators, flow indicators, pressure gauges,
air bottles, pre-egress and egress controls, actuator motors, thruster
mechanisms, and restraint harnesses. Repaired or adjusted such components
latches, up-locks, down-locks, inertia reels, positioning mechanisms, seat
actuators, and catapult guide rails. Modified systems, replacing and securing
equipment, installing and adjusting new equipment, and connecting and safetying
linkage, lines, hoses, and tubing. Disassembled, cleaned, inspected, repaired, and
tested components using bench mock-ups and related test equipment. Repaired,
serviced, and adjusted egress systems maintenance equipment such as extension
rails, hoists, slings, and dollies. Used appropriate technical data to determine
maintenance requirements and serviceability of egress and related life support
equipment. Performed phase inspections CAD/PAD inspections, and calendar
inspections on ejection seats and airframe installed egress
components/subsystems as required. Performed troubleshooting and preventative
maintenance on aircraft egress systems and related maintenance equipment, and
checks maintenance forms for status of egress systems and related equipment.
Inspected for safety, serviceability, and maintainability of systems prior to
removal, installation, repair, or adjustment of system components. Positions,
prepares, adjusts, and inspects required AGE such as maintenance stands,
hoists, slings, dollies, trailers, gauges, multi-meters, and test units.
Performed required servicing of egress systems and subsystems, and operator
maintenance and servicing of related AGE. Experience in the inspection of
explosive ordnance components associated with egress systems to include
initiators, thrusters, detonation and transfer lines, and associated hardware.
Inspected for proper installation or positioning of safety pins, initiators,
initiator simulators, and disarming mechanisms prior to removal, installation,
replacement, adjustment or service life of affected components. Also inspected
for restrictions, proper routing, and security of connectors, fittings, and
counting of all egress system components. Checked aircraft canopies, escape
hatches, and associated seals, latches, and locks for damage and security.
Identified maintenance requirements on related equipment such as parachutes,
survival equipment, and either performs required maintenance or coordinates
with appropriate specialists. Operated Core Automated Maintenance System (CAMS)
to record maintenance actions, ordering of parts, and miscellaneous
documentation actions. Performed upgrade training to shop personnel and egress
familiarization training to personnel, contractors, and engineering
professionals. Maintained good housekeeping and the knowledge and skills
necessary for the documentation of aircraft related forms and documents
including 781 forms. Established, developed, reviewed, and maintained various work
center programs to include bench/shop stock and explosive safety. Met and
coordinated with applicable officials to devise and revise annual licenses,
regulations, and training. Ensured accordance with Air Force policy.
