  • Lead a team of 10 novice to journeyman level aircraft mechanics at the aircraft systems depot at Hill air force base on the A-10 thunderbolt II.
  • Lead team members in component removal and installation, adjustment, rigging, operational checks, troubleshooting, and quality control verification's on all aircraft systems.
  • Responsible for assigning daily duties to team members, as well as creating weekly briefings and progress reports to keep continuity between shifts and supervision.
  • Fully trained and certified on all aircraft systems to include: all flight controls, landing gear, hydraulics, electrical, and pressurized air systems, as well as communication equipment, on-board computers, and engine components.
  • Responsible for performing job specific training with all team members and documenting their progress for certifications and other annual training requirements.
  • Proficient in the use of all technical manuals, blueprints, drawings, wiring diagrams, troubleshooting books, and parts guides required to perform every task to the exact specifications required.
  • Very knowledgeable in the use of all specialized tooling, and calibrated test equipment required to perform any task to include: all hand tools, air tools, rigging fixtures, test stands, pressure gauges, measuring devices, and electrical multi-meters, as well as developing new tools and procedures to make any job more safe and efficient.

  • Prepared aircraft for overseas shipment as well as loading and unloading procedures of aircraft into multiple types of cargo planes, and cargo ships.
  • Fully certified in battle damage assessment and repair, as well as emergency slingloading operations, aircraft recovery, and damaged aircraft demolition procedures.
  • Responsible for maintaining all maintenance records, and logbooks forms for assigned aircraft.
  • As a dedicated crew chief it was my responsibility to ensure that all maintenance performed by any backshop, contractor, or outside entity was done to the highest of standards, and all correlating paperwork was properly filled out prior to the final inspection by quality control, and releasing the aircraft for flight.
