I grew up in a military family. Through that part of my life I developed a great sense of respect for all people. With that respect comes the drive to want to help people with anything I can. I've lived in Lompoc pretty much my whole life and I've seen all the problems that a small town can provide and with my communication skills i believe that i can make a difference in what ever community that i serve. My work in wine taught me to be able to work long hours safely, and that is always one of my biggest concerns, safety. Working under and above people also taught me that value of communication and what a great leaders do to achieve greatness and ensure productivity.

Trail maintenance crew members duties include removing all obstructions along and inside trail corridor. Obstruction could be, trees, overgrown grasses, small and large shrubs, and small to large boulders. Keep trails accessible and safe for hikers, mountain bikers and equestrians. Leading a crew of 2 or more people out on a trail to complete our assignment. Usually required to backpack overnight with all of our gear needed to maintain vegetation and or the tread(walking surface) of the trail. Sometimes 4-wheel drive is required to reach entry locations. Must be able to walk for long distances with weight up to 70lbs in a backpack. Use of topographic maps for navigation in Los Padres National Forest and local municipal trails.
I am also a certified sawyer with a chainsaw and have first aid certifications. Registered as a Forest Service volunteer wilderness ranger. Trained and certified by San Luis Obispo County Fire.
Volunteered many hours prior to being hired as an employee with LPFA. My team and i have successfully repaired severely damaged trails in Santa Barbar county after fire and floods back to safe and pleasant trails. (San Yisidro trail, Buena Vista Trail, Franklin Trail, Hot Springs Trail, Romero Trail)
Duties as a cellar master are maintaining and overseeing of all operations of the winery under direction of the Winemaker.
Ensure jobs are completed efficiently and safely under all work environments. Duties like receiving, weighing, and documenting grapes. Operation of destemers/grape press, pumps of various types. Collection and movements of liquids like wine, juice water or sanitation chemicals. Maintaining a clean and sanitary environment for wine making while using chemicals and gasses. Preparing barrels and tanks to receive wine or juice. Operating and maintaining basic maintenance on a forklift. Keeping inventory of all wine and chemicals used and stored in the winery. Observe and document water usage. Occasionally must speak in front of an audience and give tours of the winery. Aging and storing of wine. Filtration and bottling of wine. Fermentation observation and management. Maintain and ensure all facility compliance with the state and county officials. Tasting wines frequently for quality assurance.
Duties a cellar lead include following direction of winemaker and other supervisors to produce quality wines. Specific jobs include topping off barrels, monitoring fermentations, guiding and assisting harvest interns, ensuring a clean food grade facility, mixing additions into wine and juice, maintaining inventory on topping wines, maintaining working infrastructure of winery, operating and basic maintenance of forklits, and occasionally working events at the winery.
Tasting room associates will work with the public to provide excellent customer service and to provide an enjoyable experience to the guests while they are sampling the wines. As a TR associate we are expected to smell and taste wines that will be poured for guests. This ensures the quality is right when we are showing wines to guests. I was expected to be able to identify and inform management of bad bottles based on smell, taste, and appearance. Other duties included, promotion and enrollment of our wine club, maintaining a giftshop setting and selling wine to our tasting room guests. I spoke in front of groups to give tours of the facilities and to pour wines for sample to groups, sometimes 50+ people.
Harvest duties included maintaining fermentations, mixing additions into wine and juice, clarify wines and juice, operating grape presses, pumps, forklifts, grape destemers. Working under directing of winemaker and other supervisors.
