Summary

My passion for dealing with and helping people to achieve a better condition of health led me to pursue a nursing career. I completed my RN in 1996, and after working for a few years, my love of education drove me to pursue my BSN from 2010 to 2012. For the past 25 years as a nurse, I have worked in a variety of clinical settings including nursing homes, kidney/liver transplant, neurology and neurosurgery, psychiatry for both children and adults, and drug and alcohol addiction rehab. Effectively communicating with, and teaching patients how to independently achieve the best possible health has been the highlight of my experience as a nurse. In addition, my love and strong compassion for people, in conjunction with my strongest quality of being a team player, have placed me in a leadership role as a preceptor for both students and new RNs at my current job. Throughout my carer, I have encountered many changes in technology and protocols, and I pride myself in the fact that I have been able to adapt successfully.
