As the Associate Chief , I was responsible for the administration of general, regional and local anesthestics to a wide array of critically ill patients in a level 1 trauma center. Supervised the orientation process of newly assigned CRNAs
Provide safe transport of critically injured, intubated patients from units to the O.R. and back. I coordinated the assignment of airway training slots to visiting personnel. This included EMS / Paramedic students as well as off service residents and medical students. I set up and managed the departments BLS,ACLS , PALS program
Performed as a staff nurse anesthetist in a private practice group
as a military nurse anesthetist , I provided anesthesia care as well as met ongoing requirements as an active duty soldier in the US ARMY. I am aGraduate of the 1983 army anesthesiology for army nurse corps officers.
1984 Basic airborne school. and the 1992 Expert Field Medic Course. I retired from the USAR in 2001 with the rank of lieutetant Colonel. I remain a current instructor for BLS, ACLS, PALS.
I deployed as the executive officer of my detachment(451st gen.surg)to saudi arabia / iraq during desert shield/storm. 1990-1991. I responsible for all the administrative details of our 7 man detachment while deployed, as well as the chief anesthetist duties. i took 15 hours of german for fun in the 90s at the university of missouri and so have a very basic understanding of the language.I completed both the expert field medic and the airborne basic parachute training which has more to do with the attitude which could best be summed up with the words;
