  • Administer blood and blood products, monitoring patients for signs and symptoms related to transfusion reactions.
  • Assess patients' psychosocial status and needs including areas such as sleep patterns, anxiety, grief, anger and support systems.
  • Advocate for patients' and families' needs, or provide emotional support for patient and their families.
  • Interpret information obtained from electrocardiogram or tele-monitor device and report arrhythmias.
  • Manage patient's pain relief needs and evaluate efficacy of comfort/pain relief measures.
  • Document data related to patients' care including assessment results, interventions, medications, patient responses, or treatment changes.
  • Act as a patient advocate to guide treatment and care decisions to ensure that patient's individual needs are expressed and valued.
  • Manage the care of patients on New Vision program and video EEG monitoring.
