PROJECT: Xfinity Entertainment Pass /Interactive TV/VODIP/ Electronic Sell Through

Comcast is a leading provider of information, entertainment and communication products and services. It provides services such as High-definition video, High-speed internet, Digital Voice, Wireless High-speed Internet, and communication solutions. The aim of the project was to create Data Warehouse from existing database. In addition, Comcast decided to build OBIEE and Tableau on top of Data Warehouse to create reports to provide business decisions to users. Also, I am involved in Building day to day transactional flow on the purchases, coupon assignment, fraud enhancements and Rental assignments to individual customers. Current projects also involve extensive work with external teams for billing, Micro services, Oracle. Involving in E2E testing and Deployments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

§ Involved in creating detailed Functional Documentation which includes all Business requirements and Technical specifications.

§ Worked with the data conversions by application screens.

§ Worked for designing Logical and Physical data models for Master Data and Transactional Data.

PROJECT: CONVERSIONS/REPORTING/MIGRATION

Conversion Project mainly based on the File load and validations run on the customer data. Set of files varied from 5 gb to 32 gb and more were received to the servers using ftp and sftp. Tools used for the Files load, UNIX and SQLPLUS, External tables. Worked on Finance, Insurance data validations and involved in writing plsql procedures to load to Database tables. Connecting through multiple sources was a challenge, used sqlcopy to copy from one DB to another. Encrypted all the passwords, legacy system corrections. Process connection and the reports are involved with Main frames and UNIX environment. I am also a part of implementation team named as ITSM and designed scheduling tools like oracle scheduler and control m to the UNIX jobs (Batch jobs).Reports through APEX or manually created had a lot of implementation changes from the business team which widely involves plsql coding (procedure,packages,triggers).Reports and loading process to production is completely based on pearl c programming and Plsql Programming.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

§ Involved in uploading of the data from flat files into Databases and validated the data with PL/SQL procedures. Created Repository by building Physical Layer, Business Model and Mapping Layer, and presentation Layer using Oracle Admin Tool.

PROJECT: INFORMATION ONE REMEDIATION

The project is mainly on migration from one database to a different database. The basic involvement was from UNIX part and control M jobs. Existing database was having ability to Production which has been changed in the present environment. I was involved in writing UNIX shell scripts and procedures which added up in the migration process. DBMS scheduler was replaced by control m jobs. The new environment involved in having a tract of every change to be made in the production, which involved Tickets, getting access etc. Used the concept, External Tables instead of SQL loader in the migrated environment.
