-Serviced a client basis in person and sometimes per telephone conversation. My overall duties were to monitor the clients fleet of vehicles fuel and maintenance charges and utilize reports to highlight inconsistencies and or fraud. This was done through a card based system via the bank. Parameters could be set so that any inconsistencies would be highlighted on reports which the client would receive. Dealing with corporate clients meant their vehicle base could be thousands of trucks and cars and so these reports generated, helped the financial/ transport manager etc. to monitor their employees expenditure.
-Cross selling products of Stannic Fleet Management was important as well when visiting clients.
-Annual reviews of the clients financial statements was part of my job responsibilities. Obtaining the clients financial statements required skillful communication and rapport. Calculating the risk to the company was the main objective and math calculations were necessary and imperative as I had to sign off on whether the client was good for the credit or not.
Worked in many departments over the years, namely;
-Foreign Exchange where I sold travelers checks to customers travelling overseas. South Africa had foreign exchange regulations which had to be
strictly adhered to while performing these duties.
-Bank teller dealing with cash and checks on a daily basis. Most important function was making sure you balance at the end of the day and that you adhere to all the rules pertaining to cashed checks etc.
-Guarantee department where I drew up guarantees for clients and released them to the clients when expired.
-Supervisor in a satellite branch responsible for 5 clerks under me. I was responsible for safe keys and locking cash away for the night. Duties also included stocking and balancing the ATM.
-Reconciliation department responsible for reconciling transactions that went awry and making sure they get to their correct destination.
-Operated telex machine when I first worked in the bank
-Worked in the waste department when I first started, processing transactions from the tellers.
