October 2015 I moved to Utah from Minnesota. Until I moved I was employed by the security firm Centerra that provided security for the Federal Premium Ammunition plant in Anoka, Minnesota.
Before working for Centerra I was employed by the Minnesota State Department of Corrections. I served there for 18 1/2 years and retired as a Corrections Officer 2 in June 2013.
I am a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and I served time in the United States Army National Guard. I was a 0351 Anti-tank Assault Man in the Marine Corp and a 12 Bravo Combat Engineer in the United States Army National Guard.
During my employment as a Corrections Officer I volunteered for extra duty as a member of the institution's Special Operations Response Team. This team was trained for quelling riots and responding to other non-typical emergencies. Above average physical fitness and abilities was required to qualify for the team.
I served three years active duty in the United States Marine Corp and advanced to the level of Non Commissioned Officer of Corporal.
I was a Specialist 4 in the Army National Guard.
Centerra contracted security for Federal Premium. Monitored vehicle and foot traffic coming in and out of the factory, checking identification. Conducted security checks on foot and driving a truck. Monitored indoor and outdoor security cameras. Answered phone calls and directed calls to proper persons. Directed emergency responders to correct areas. Completed First Aid training and CPR classes.

Oversaw daily administration of inmate living units. Monitored security cameras. Responded to emergencies as needed. Served as a Utility Officer and worked nearly all posts, including Sargent posts that were above my grade. Served as an "out-of-class" Sargent for a few months. Was a First Aid / CPR instructor. Served with the institution's Special Operations Response Team for a few years. Last post worked before retiring was Perimeter Security, driving outside the institution in a truck, armed with a 12 gauge shotgun.
