North Central Louisiana Motorcyclist for Kids

I have been a member of this nonprofit organization for over 5 years. We coordinate two events a year to help area children. The largest of the two is for MDA. This event occurs June and has been annually for 38 years. The last three years have enabled a donation to MDA of over $30,000.00. This money has gone to help provide summer camp for the children in the north central area . It is very rewarding to see how these funds are used. Providing a way for the children to enjoy activities that they may have not had without the sponsors and participants.

The organization also has an even in November that raises funds to help needing families during the holiday time of the year. Providing clothes, food and Christmas gifts for the children. I feel giving back to the community is very important.

Additional Information

Patient care is my priority. I have worked with oncology patient for a combined 8 years. It is challenging yet rewarding. Working with patients that closely gives on the opportunity to get to know the patient and their family. You become a part of their life not just as a caregiver but a friend. It gives one the feeling that they have become a part of the patients life not just someone that gives them medication. You laugh with them and joke with them. Unfortunately cry with them and their family. To me that makes a better nurse. I am a dedicated hard working individual, prompt and rarely have to take off.
