As scrub tech, I functioned as primary scrub person responsible for handling of instruments, supplies, and equipment during all surgical procedures such as, orthopedic, ophthalmology, gynecology, urology, dental surgery and a full range of general surgery, minimally invasive procedures and laparoscopic cases. I have knowledge of highly technical medical instruments and equipment, human anatomy, sterile technique to prepare and protect sterile field during surgery, proper cleaning techniques and the handling of contaminated items, and ability to anticipate needs of surgical team in order to prepare for the procedure with speed and accuracy. Possess effective communication skills in order to interact with physicians, coworkers, patients, patient's families, manufacturer representatives, and other medical center personnel.
Due to being a Rural area Pre-op duties included electrolyte infusions, antibiotic infusions, and vitamin infusions for Out-patients. Collaborated with Providers to provide care to patients requiring infusions.
