Licensed Registered Nurse
Provide expedited admission services for adult medical, surgical, and telemetry patients. Patients received from emergency department, physicians offices, home and regional emergency departments. Services provided include performing adult health assessments, admission paperwork, initiation of physician orders, education of family and patient. Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document nursing care of patients to unit, organization on professional standards.
Delivers general nursing care to patients in all areas of the Radiology/Imaging Department, assesses patient condition and takes immediate action in emergency situation. Responds to patient needs before, during and after procedures including assessment of condition, intravenous problems. Performs pre-examination and post- examination assessments for angiography, CT scan and minor special procedures, including physical exam with extremity pulses, allergies, current medication and medical history which would have an adverse effect on the patient or exam and sedation analgesia. Educates patient and family about pre, intra and post procedure care. Documents care and relay information to physician and patient care unit. Follows established standards and practices under the direction of a credentialed radiologist, and credentialed intravascular surgeon.
Assess patients condition and planning and implementing patient care plans. Treating wounds and providing advanced life support. Assisting physicians in performing procedures. Observe and record patient vital signs. Ensuring that ventilators, monitors and other types of medical equipment function properly. Administer intravenous fluids and medications. Ordering diagnostic tests. Collaborate with fellow members of the critical care team. Respond to life-saving situation while on code the code team using nursing standards and protocols for treatment. Act as patient advocate. Provide education and support to patient families.
Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records. Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in patients' conditions. Record patients' medical information and vital signs.Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions. Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans. Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's condition.
