Currently, I am a registered nurse with Catholic Health Initiatives Saint Joseph East in Lexington, KY and a May 2019 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University associate degree nursing program. My intention is to continue building my skills and knowledge in wound, burn, and critical care, as this is my passion. After completing my bachelor degree in nursing, which I have started, I intend to get certified as a wound care nurse. I am applying for an ICU and/or Med-Surgical RN position to further my experiences and skills in this area. Last spring (2019), I completed a 120-hour preceptorship within the ICU department at St. Joseph East. I worked two years as a patient care assistant on the medical surgical floor while in nursing school. I am flexible, dependable, and wholeheartedly believe in teamwork. A dedicated and compassionate registered nurse, I have embarked on a progressive career in direct patient care on the medical surgical floor. Proven ability to remain calm under pressure and skillfully handle difficult patients and high-stress situations, I am consistently developing strong relationships with patients and families through empathetic communication, respectful attitude, and excellent customer service. In my current RN role, I strive to maintain a highly productive, efficient and quality-driven environment at all times.
Related course work: nursing coursework, clinical experiences ( 3 semesters), clinical observational hours in ICU (24 hours) and ED (12 hours), preceptorship (120 hours in ICU), environmental and community health classes.
