Started in their home health department and moved to the clinic area when home health was phased out. Clinic duties included patients of all ages for immunizations, testing for sexually transmitted diseases and treatment, follow up etc. Tuberculosis testing, and treatment follow up including direct observed medication protocol if needed. Also did school physicals, and referrals as needed.
In 2000 was given the opportunity to attend the Women's Health Nurse Practitioner program and received my certification. My job then was doing the women's health exams for family planning including pap smears, breast exams, referrals as needed and follow up. Sexually transmitted disease testing and treatment in coordination with the physician.
Up to date in PALS and BLS.
NCC certification in Women's Health Care.
Registered nurse with current license in Missouri.
