As charge nurse of the Rapid Response Team I oversee and make most of the decisions for the Rapid Response Team. The Rapid Response Team consists of specialized Nurses responsible code blues and declining patients in the floor areas of the hospital. We help stabilize the patients and if necessary expedite getting them to the appropriate ICU. We work with all departments of the hospital and family of the patients to insure all aspects of the patients care is being addressed.
Ten years of Paramedic experience and Thirteen years as a CardioThoracic ICU nurse has prepared me for this.

I took this team from part time to a full time dedicated rapid response team. We have added a Sepsis Alert system, and Doctor Strokes (a stroke response). I respond as a Rapid Response Nurse as well as handling scheduling to make sure there is 24/7 coverage. I oversee the Telemetry Room as well as training for new members.
Worked with Open Heart Surgery Patients, Balloon Pumps, and other Cardiac Patients. The last 2 years I was Charge Nurse.
